The Director is responsible for the full operations of the PC-ACT Program. The Director works with the Program Coordinators at HCA Hospitals in Macon and Savannah, Navicent Health Hospital in Macon, and affiliated Columbus hospitals to develop the strategic direction of the training program and manages the programmatic, educational, and associated administrative activities of the program and the students under indirect supervision. The Director assures the PC-ACT program is compliant with regulatory agency standards with LCME and maintains essential documentation for program viability. Provides supervision for the students as well as the other ACT administrative coordinators at the Savannah, Columbus, and Macon campuses of Mercer University School of Medicine. The Director is responsible for preparing, implementing, and managing the operational program budget. Develops and distributes curricular resources to the ACT sites once they are in their final form. Independently organizes all marketing and recruitment materials for the PC-ACT Program, as well as assists with program growth and development.

This position is available at the Macon campus OR the Savannah campus; however, travel to other MUSM campuses will be required.


A bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, informatics, management, or a related field from an accredited college/university is required, along with at least three years of relevant project and/or program management experience, to include general marketing and communication skills as well as budgeting. A master’s degree and/or prior experience working in higher education or a medical setting is highly desired. The successful candidate must: 1) understand and apply learned information about institutional and curricular requirements that the PC-ACT program must comply with; 2) Understand budgets and be able to create budgets to help manage the financial aspect of the PC-ACT program; 3) be able to develop marketing materials and messaging to promote the program to the medical students, faculty, and the public; and 4) have project/program management skills to identify next steps for the program based on different meetings to allow the program to accomplish its work.
