The Site Coordinator identifies, recruits and selects 450+ project participants, assists participants in completing college admissions and financial aid applications appropriate for their stated goals, facilitates workshops and teaches classes on assigned topics and is responsible for the maintenance of participant records and preparation of reports related to assigned participants. The Site Coordinator establishes and maintains working relationships with representatives from outreach sites, area secondary and post-secondary schools, and community agencies that support the daily delivery of services to participants and provides on-site supervision of tutorial staff, program interns, student workers and volunteers. This position is grant funded and is contingent upon continuation of funding.


A Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in English, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field is required. In addition, at least one year of academic advising and/or counseling at risk-students is required, where knowledge of federal, state and higher education policies and procedures has been gained and where a thorough understanding of college admissions requirements and support services was required to assist under-served and academically disadvantaged populations. Experience working with the Educational Opportunity Center, or other TRIO programs, focused on students who are low-income and first-generation is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications, interpersonal skills (particularly in working with a diverse student population), organizational and management skills are required. A working knowledge of various computer applications is required. Experience with database applications is preferred.

Selection of final candidate is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
