The Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC), an operating unit of Mercer University, is located in Warner Robins, GA. MERC is dedicated to providing high quality engineering, scientific, and technical support services under contract to both government and private industry customers.

MERC has an immediate opening for a Senior Logistician with Reliability Emphasis in the Reliability and Maintainability Division.
Duties of the position include participating in a dynamic team of skilled engineers and logisticians in reliability and maintainability analysis, maintenance planning for aircraft structures, systems and related maintenance equipment. Duties require planning and execution of Reliability Centered Maintenance/MSG-3 processes, creating and validating aircraft preventative maintenance programs, and design engineering of aircraft and mechanical systems.


Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Successful candidates must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DoD security clearance.
- Requires Ph.D. degree in logistics or a closely related area from an accredited college or university and 3 years related of directly related experience; or a Masters degree in same and 6 years of directly related experience; or Certification as a Professional Logistician (CPL) and 6 years directly related experience; or an undergraduate degree in logistics or a closely related area and 9 years directly related experience; or no degree and 12 years of directly related experience.
- Extensive technical and specialized knowledge in logistics activities such as equipment maintenance or maintenance planning.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using all Microsoft software programs.
- C-130 or other USAF fixed wing or rotary wing aircraft operational, maintenance, or RCM experience.

Desired Qualifications:
- 12 years Active duty experience in one of the branches of the Armed Services.
- High proficiency in MSG-3 to include but not limited to:
—Experience with FMECA development including failure mode development and classification experience.
—Experience with Weibull, Reliability Growth Analysis, Root Cause Analysis and statistical RCM analysis, including MTBF and MTBM calculations, to support decision making.
—Solid understanding of the relationship between reliability and its impact on production, availability, through-put or other productivity metrics.
- Experience in bridging the gap between design engineering and front line implementation.
- USAF System Safety Management experience
- Commercial aircraft operational, maintenance, or RCM experience.
