The Mercer University School of Medicine is seeking highly qualified faculty members with broad training capable of teaching in an integrated curriculum. This is a non-tenure track, 12-month appointment, and location is open to either the Macon or Savannah campus. Teaching faculty will play a key role in the continued development of an integrated, cross-disciplinary curriculum that includes small and large group case-based and team-based learning. Successful candidates will demonstrate scholarly activity and a record of medical and graduate education in Microbiology, Immunology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Histology, Genetics, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, and/or Physiology. Applicants at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank, depending on credentials, will be considered and are available immediately.


Doctoral degree (PhD, MD/DO) from an accredited college/university in a related field is required. Faculty members are expected to participate broadly across the curricula in both the medical and graduate programs, and engage in scholarly research in areas of biomedical science, medical education, or community-oriented research. Additional duties include course administration and contributions to institutional/departmental governance and service. Experience in health professions education and with innovative learning strategies including the ability to facilitate large and small interactive sessions is preferred. Applicants applying for Associate or full Professor ranks should have a strong record of medical school teaching in large and small group settings.
