Responsibilities

The Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC), an operating unit of Mercer University, is located in Warner Robins, GA. MERC is dedicated to providing high quality engineering, scientific, and technical support services under contract to both government and private industry customers.
MERC has an immediate opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Avionics Systems Division.
Duties of the position include system design, software design and software development in C/C++ and assembly language, analysis of system performance and deficiencies, and threat analysis. In addition, the position includes design, modification, development, writing and testing of software for EW systems, support equipment software and support tool software.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
-U.S. Citizenship is required.
-Successful candidates must be capable of obtaining a DoD security clearance.
-This position requires a Ph.D degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from an ABET accredited School or College of Engineering directly related and appropriate to the primary Division and Directorate functional area and 3 years related program experience including 2 years technical lead responsibility and/or program management experience; or a Masters degree in same and 6 years related experience including 2 years technical lead responsibility and/or program management experience; or an undergraduate degree in same and 9 years related experience including 2 years technical lead responsibility and/or program management experience.
-Experience in the development of real time software for scientific or engineering applications to include software, hardware, and systems architectures to meet strict time and performance objectives is required.
-Three to ten years experience is required with Electronic Warfare/Avionics systems in the areas of system level functionality and in development and maintenance of OFP software.

Desired Qualifications:
-Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a development team.
-Knowledge of configuration management, CASE tools, airborne avionics, and standard electronics laboratory test equipment is desired. -Exposure to CMM or CMMI development environment is a plus.
