The College of Pharmacy at Mercer University-Atlanta is seeking a full-time, tenure-track, 12-month faculty member with research expertise in clinical/translational pharmacology, specifically within the area of clinical pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D., Pharm.D., or Pharm.D./Ph.D. from an accredited college/university and appropriate post-doctoral training. Preference will be given to candidates that have evidence of productivity in clinical and translational research, specifically in the areas of PK/PD or drug metabolism in support of human clinical trials. The incumbent will be expected to develop and/or maintain a sustainable, extramurally-funded research program and will teach in the Ph.D. and Pharm.D. programs. The incumbent will also be expected to support human clinical trials at the College’s Center for Clinical Research as well as collaborate in support of clinical research with local and regional partners. Candidates with established track records will be eligible for rank of Associate Professor and will serve as director of the Pharm.D./Ph.D. combined-degree program.

The College of Pharmacy is located on the Cecil B. Day Campus of Mercer University in northeast Atlanta, Georgia. The 335 wooded acres of the campus create a serene and secluded atmosphere in close proximity to downtown Atlanta. The Mercer University Health Sciences Center includes the College of Pharmacy, School of Nursing and the College of Health Professions on the Atlanta campus and the School of Medicine on Mercer’s Macon, Georgia campus. In addition, the College maintains vibrant relationships with Atlanta-area hospitals and conducts phase II-IV clinical studies within our on-campus Center for Clinical Research. The location is ideal for fostering collaborative research with investigators at other institutions in Atlanta including Emory University School of Medicine, the Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Institute, Georgia State University, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Research laboratory space and a startup package will be provided.
