Responsibilities

The Department of Pharmacy Practice of Mercer University College of Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time, 12 month, tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor of Public Health and Outcomes Research. The main responsibilities will be to teach and mentor students in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program in the areas of population health and public health and to conduct outcomes research in the area of public health. The faculty member will collaborate with faculty, students and College partners on outcomes research and have membership in the Center for Clinical Outcomes Research and Education. Scholarship in the form of successful grantsmanship and peer-reviewed publications is a requirement, as is service to the institution and community.

The College of Pharmacy is located on Mercer University’s Cecil B. Day Campus in Atlanta, GA and is one of four academic units within the Mercer Health Sciences Center. The campus is located within close proximity to Emory University, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other healthcare and academic institutions. The Atlanta area provides an ideal environment for cultural and intellectual stimulation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. A graduate degree in Public Health (Ph.D., Dr.PH. or MPH) from an accredited college/university.

Considerations:
1. Preference will be given to the candidate with a Ph.D. in Public Health
2 A candidate with a Dr.PH. and research experience in Public Health will be considered
3. A candidate with a Pharm.D./MPH with a residency and research experience in Public Health will be considered
4. A candidate with a Pharm.D./MPH with a fellowship in Outcomes Research with a Public Health emphasis will be considered
5. Excellent written and communication skills.
6. Skills in statistical programming software and applied statistics.

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience
